What means ISO 22000 certification?
ISO has developed a new ISO 22000 norm for food safety systems on the principle of HACCP. This new ISO 22000 norm, that was published September 2005, makes demands on a management system for food safety applied to all links in the food chain.
ISO 22000 combines ‘the best of both worlds' i.e. clear food safety conditions, based on the basic hygiene conditions and the HACCP standard of the Codex Alimentarius and an effective management of the measures of control based on ISO 9001.
The ISO 22000 norm is link focused and applied to all connected industries. By this can be thought of suppliers of hardware of remedies, transport companies or cleaning companies that are focused on the food industry. All those organizations can, in contrary to HACCP, BRC and IFS, obtain an ISO 22000 certificate.
